Understanding Dyslexia

Overview:

Dyslexia is a condition of the developmental spectrum that interferes with a child’s capability of reading and writing properly. Dyslectic students have a hard time converting sounds of words into letters and their written form or place then in the right order during reading or writing.

Additionally, dyslexia affects the comprehension of the order and organization of words or numbers in a typed text. While the condition does not impact a child’s intelligence, the dyslexic student finds spelling and reading very challenging. In many cases, dyslexia can be hard to diagnose because it is often misinterpreted as laziness or a mere aversion to learning.
